Trustee

Once property has been transferred under a trust to the trustees (usually by the settlor), the trustees become the legal owners of the trust property. The trustee deals with the property itself on behalf of the trust for the benefit of the beneficiaries.
In general, any individual, company or other corporation may be appointed as a trustee. For more information, see Practice note, Trusts: overview.
